MARUTI SUZUKI AND ROAD SAFETY

Many industry surveys have shown that majority of road accidents are caused due to driver negligence.

Road safety has become a grave concern for all. This concern has driven us to make road safety our priority.

Maruti Suzuki realizing the need to improve road safety and minimize accidents took up road safety as its focused CSR initiative. Maruti Suzuki operates its Road Safety initiatives at two levels.

National Road Safety Mission is the flagship Road Safety initiative introduced by the Company in December 2008. Under this initiative, the Company took a commitment of training over 500,000 people in safe driving practices in a span of 3 years. The Company has successfully met this achievement. Amongst the five lakh people trained one lakh are from the underprivileged sections of society. The main objective was to make them employable in driving profession.

Through our various road safety initiatives we have cumulatively trained over 10 lakh people in safe driving
